Our Children, Our Future

Our Children, Our Future (OCOF) is a leading group of West Virginians that hail from a variety of backgrounds and include policy advocacy, service providers, religious leaders, parents, labor and business leaders focused on taking action to fight child poverty through community meetings, a 450-person legislative-action day, and regional forums around the state to educate communities and policymakers. Child poverty is all too common in West Virginia and OCOF is building the political will to ensure it is not an inventible future for our children.

Through old-fashioned people power, the OCOF campaign has worked with thousands of West Virginia families, community groups, unions, churches, and other partners to win 28 statewide policy victories. Together, we have raised the minimum wage, expanded school breakfast by 5.2 million meals per year, saved child care benefits for 12,000 kids, modernized our state's child abuse prevention system, and expanded Medicaid to 182,000 families.
