KEYSER – The Mineral County Family Resource Network and West Virginia Healthy Kids and Families Coalition will be presenting “Our Children, Our Future: The Campaign to End Child Poverty” on Friday, Feb. 28, at 6 p.m. at the Mineral County Health Department.
Representatives will present area legislators with information on six well-researched policy proposals, from increasing the minimum wage to physical activity in schools, and protecting Family Resource Networks and the work they do.
The meeting will include a review of the 2014 platform for addressing child poverty, and creating a call to action for increasing voter turnout, expressing child poverty needs to the legislators, and assisting local child health and poverty projects.
Everyone is invited to attend, but this is not a public form. Anyone having a project they would like discussed must contact the Mineral County Family Resource Network ahead of time at 304-788-9099 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
