West Virginia Healthy Kids and Families Coalition works to improve the health of children and families in our state by providing a forum for diverse organization to discuss, coordinate, and collaborate on issues. Our programs and initiatives include:
Families Leading Change
Families Leading Change supports West Virginia families by offering funding to start educational programs and projects and trains families who want to work with their principals, teachers, and school staff to make their hometown schools better.
Our Children, Our Future
Our Children, Our Future – a statewide campaign of over 150 partner organizations working to end child poverty in West Virginia – has worked with thousands of families, community groups, unions, churches, and other partners to win 28 statewide policy victories.
Try This WV
Every year, the Try This WV team gives out 40-55 mini-grants to rural communities across West Virginia to start community-led, grassroots health and economic development projects such as community gardens, walking trails, and farmers markets.
Young West Virginia
Young WV encourages students ages 15 to 25 to join a statewide movement of young people committed to making change within their communities in West Virginia. The annual Young WV: Power Building Conference is the states’s only conference that is entirely planned and led by our state’s best and brightest young people.
We, along with other individuals, private organizations, and state agencies, work to improve the health of children and families in West Virginia. We provide a forum for diverse organizations to discuss, coordinate, and collaborate on issues that improve the health and well-being of West Virginia children and families.
Our vision is for West Virginia to be the best place in the world to live, work, and raise a family – no matter who you are. That means…
